GTA 6 Soundtrack: Major Labels Confirm Rockstar Licensing Conversations
Representatives from three major music labels have indirectly confirmed active licensing discussions with Rockstar for GTA VI's radio station soundtrack — including one surprise Latin music imprint.

The soundtrack of a GTA game is as iconic as its world — and early signs suggest GTA VI's music licensing operation is already well underway.
A senior A&R executive at a major label, speaking at a music industry conference last month, referenced 'an upcoming AAA title set in Miami' as part of a panel discussion on synchronisation licensing. While no names were given, the context left little ambiguity for those following GTA VI development.
Separately, a Latin music imprint based in Miami has been referenced in public ASCAP registration data with a blanket licensing agreement for 'interactive media' filed in late 2024. The imprint specialises in reggaeton, dembow, and Miami bass — all genres consistent with a Vice City setting.
GTA VI is expected to feature at least 12 distinct radio stations, significantly more than GTA V's roster. Based on the setting and character demographics, community speculation has long anticipated stations covering Miami bass, Latin pop, country, classic rock, and multiple electronic subgenres.
Rockstar's approach to music has always been central to world-building — and if the licensing conversations already underway are any indication, GTA VI's soundtrack could be among the most culturally rich in the series.
